China Glaze Spellbound Halloween 2020 Collection

Well I meant to post this the day before Halloween but life happens and here I am posting it two days after Halloween! Let’s pretend it’s Oct 30th, so here we go….

Tomorrow is Halloween!!! Who is excited?!? I am so so sooo excited. I will be spending it with my mom (it’s her bday), and my little niece and nephew (their costumes are SO CUTE!!!). It’s a full day of celebrating but only with my parents, sister and her family, and my hubby.

If you didn’t already know, Halloween is my fave holiday of the year! I look forward to it every year. Today I’m sharing with you guys the spooky and enchanting Spellbound Collection by China Glaze!

This set of 6 polishes are stunning and have super cool finishes. Mattes, glitters, and shimmers. Let’s take a look at each one.

This is a burnt orange glitter. Fantastic formula! It glides on the nail and is opaque in 2 easy coats.

Look at that glitter! I love love love!

This is a deep dark pine green with a matte finish. Wow guys, wow. Wow again. I love polishes like these. I adore how it automatically dries matte. It’s so so cool. It’s opaque in 1 coat, however, the only downside to this polish is that it cracks if you leave it at one coat. I noticed the cracks after 30 seconds of applying.

It has a super thick formula so you have to apply it quickly and try to do medium coats, don’t overload your brush. It dries SUPER FAST!!!

So I ended up doing 3 coats and after that it did not crack. I am so incredibly in love with this polish. It’s so gorgeous.

I added a glossy top coat and here’s what it looks like, also gorgeous. Which way to you like it better? Matte or glossy??

This is a blue/purple metallic. It’s pretty sheer on the first coat, however it covers up nicely on the second coat. This polish has a bit of a frosty finish. The brushstrokes do show up, so it’s best to do quick straight strokes downward when applying.

The shimmer is super pretty and it reminds me of a crystal ball, so they nailed the name.

This is a deep burgundy matte filled with gold glitter. WOW!!!!! Ok so this has a super super duper goopy and thick formula. Dang! You have to work fast with this one because it dries lighting fast. It only takes one coat for full opacity and guess what guys? It DOES NOT crack!

So this one has a better formula than Hex Boyfriend, but it’s still not an easy formula.

How stunning is this with a glossy top coat as well. I do have to say, I love it matte.

That gold glitter is like a hidden treasure in this polish.

This is a smokey grey with purple shimmer. This one had a very similar formula to Having a Crystal Ball, however it’s a bit more opaque. Such a great formula, super easy to apply and opaque in 2 coats.

I love this so much! The glitter gives this such a pretty look.

This is a matte black. Wow okay this formula was completely not what I was expecting. I thought this was going to be just like Hex Boyfriend or Kiss & Spell – thick and dries super fast. Well it was NOT. The first coat is SUPER sheer and watery. It dries sort of fast, but not really. Definitely not nearly as fast as the other two. It is completely opaque in 2 coats. Formula is tricky.

Ughhh it’s soooo delicious and sexy. I love it, even with the weird formula that it has. This one ended up having more of a satin finish than matte. I wonder if it was my bottle or if this polish is really more satin than matte. Hmmm… not sure.

These beauties are available at Rite Aid, CVS, and on the China Glaze website here.

In the swatches where I used glossy top coat, I used Seche Vite, which you can get on Amazon here.

Did you guys like these? Which one was your fave? My faves are Hex Boyfriend, Kiss & Spell, and Covens & Cavier. Basically all the MATTES! I love these even with their tricky formulas and all!

Are you dressing up for Halloween? Let me know in the comments what you will be for Halloween!
