Classics: Bordeaux by essie

Hi Pretty Polishers! Today I’m sharing another “Classic” polish with you. It’s been a while since I added to my “Classics” series, so on today’s classics post, I’m featuring a timeless beauty by essie. I love sharing essie classic nail polish with you! I actually just recently purchased this polish when I learned it was 1 of the original essie colors still in production. This is Bordeaux.

Essie Weingarten has been crowned the “Queen of Polish” for almost 35 years since she first sold her polish to a salon in New York. She originally started going door to door in Vegas selling her polish to dancers, showgirls, and dealers until she got her big break in NY. Only 3 of her original polish colors are still sold today. They are Baby’s Breath, Blanc, and Bordeaux. These are true vintage classics.

Bordeaux is described as a deep red wine. It is a perfect color for Fall and Winter. It is also the perfect shade of red, not too dark and not too vibrant. The formula is fantastic. It is somewhat watery but glides on perfectly. This polish is somewhat of a tinted crelly. I did 2 thin coats here with top coat.

It looks way lighter under the sun and outdoors.

I can’t think of a better staple than essie’s Bordeaux for Fall. Pair this beauty with your flannel shirt, jeans, and boots! Every essie lover must own Bordeaux in their collection. 🙂 Oh! And by the way, Bordeaux is a beautiful district in the Southern part of France where a large number of wine is grown and produced. What a perfect name for this polish!
