DUPES!? Battle of the peachy coral essies

Happy Sunday Funday loves! Yesterday I posted essie’s Color of the MonthTart Deco. I quickly realized I had a ton of essies that were so similar to it! Naturally, I had to do a DUPES post!

I’ve always wanted to know if any polish came close to Tart Deco. It’s been one of my faves for years and is one of the very first essie polishes that I purchased.

So let’s meet the ladies… these are the essies in my collection that I found were most similar in color tone to Tart Deco:

Resort Fling is from the Spring 2014 Collection

Peach Side Babe is from the Summer 2015 Collection which I reviewed here

Tart Deco is from the Spring 2010 Collection which I reviewed here

Haute as Hello is from the Summer 2010 Collection

Serial Shopper is from the Summer 2014 Collection

Since there are 5 polishes here, I’m not going to show you individual swatches of each polish but let’s get right to the nitty gritty… are any DUPES? Let’s take a look at them side by side on the nail:

VERDICT: I was so surprised when I saw these side by side on the nail. I thought for SURE one of them had to be a Dupe to Tart Deco…. but nothing!

Peach Side Babe comes close, but no cigar. Tart Deco is brighter and more pigmented.

Instead, what I found were two other DUPES unintentionally: Resort Fling and Haute as Hello

These two are DUPES!! Both have similar formulas and took 3 coats to be smooth and opaque. The formulas are different though. Resort Fling is watery and thin while Haute as Hello is a bit thicker.

So there you have it! Tart Deco has no DUPES!!! This goes to show you that you never know what polish will really look like until it’s on the nail and dry. Never go by what it looks like in the bottle because appearances may be deceiving!
