As we all sadly know, or if you don’t know…. KL Polish is coming to a close. They are throwing in the towel. Closing their doors. But we don’t know when. So far, Kathleen Lights has announced she will be starting her own brand, Lights Lacquer, but again we don’t know when that will launch either. My guess is KL Polish will have to officially close it’s doors before Lights Lacquer opens up.
The other day I posted a collage of every single KL Polish ever produced (80 in total) on my Instagram page. I asked if anyone had any dupes requests they wanted me to do and of course I had a ton of requests! So get ready guys, I will be doing a ton of KL Polish DUPES related posts!
Today we are taking a look at Mami Martha and trying to find a possible DUPE for it. I found these three guys in my collection that looked like potential Dupes.
Eden by ZOYA – Mami Martha by KL Polish – Two Timing the Zones by OPI
Okay so right off the bat, what are your thoughts? Do these look like DUPES??? I feel like they all look a bit similar. But let’s not judge because we won’t really know until they are on the nail and dry. Let’s take a look at each one of these beauties first.
EDEN by ZOYA
This is a bright flamingo pink creme. Amazing formula. This is 2 easy coats. It’s originally from the ZOYA Spring 2015 Delights Collection which I reviewed here.
MAMI MARTHA by KL POLISH
This is a bubblegum pink creme. The formula is awesome. It is a tiny bit watery on the first coat, but after 2 coats it evens out beautifully. Kathleen launched this polish back in October 2017 as a tribute to her grandmother who passed away from breast cancer. I reviewed it here.
TWO-TIMING THE ZONES by OPI
This is a blue-based bubblegum pink creme. It’s a bit patchy so it took me 2-3 coats to cover the nail entirely. This one is so gorgeous and perfect for Summer. Originally from the OPI Spring/Summer 2017 Fiji Collection which I reviewed here.
Now…… let’s take a look side by side:
WOW! Okay so I feel confident saying Eden & Mami Martha are almost exact DUPES!!! They might be a hair and barely noticeable any difference, especially not in person. This is the closest I have found to Mami Martha. Two-timing the Zones is darker and has more blue in it. So we can X that one out, but the other two, are super super similar.
Price & Purchase
Price-wise these are all pretty similar.
OPI is $10.50 and can be purchased here.
KL Polish is $9.50 but no longer sold of course
ZOYA is $10 and can be purchased here.
Formula-wise these are all pretty good. Mami Martha is the best one out of the bunch but Eden by ZOYA is a close second.
Do you own any of these? What polishes do you want me to compare next?
