I purchased this collection back in December but have not gotten around to swatching these until now. Let’s look at each one individually and I’ll give you my synopsis at the end.

Coat Couture

This is what essie calls a “greige” which is a mix of beige and gray. It also has the blue iridescent shimmer that’s in the previous two shades. It dries to a more purple color. This is 2 coats.

Spun in Luxe

This is a black base with blue shimmer. There’s that blue iridescent shimmer again! It’s more noticeable in this swatch than the others because of the darker base. This is 2 coats.

Overall I was not a fan of this collection. 🙁 I’m being brutally honest here. I was actually not going to post it, but I figured I would just to give my 2 cents and there are some matte lovers out there!

The application was not easy. These polishes are difficult to work with because they are matte so they leave brush strokes, gaps, bumps, and unevenness. I would hands down rather apply essie’s matte top coat to any creme polish and make it look amazing! The only matte polish I truly adore is Zoya’s. They got the formula down to a science. Check out one of my posts on my fave matte polishes by Zoya here so you can see what I’m talkin’ about!

The only two shades that I really liked were Wrap Me Up and Spun in Luxe. I would much prefer adding a glossy top coat to these babies! Either way, give these a try if you love matte polish. If not, you’ll be perfectly fine skipping these chickies. Next is the Spring collection!

Thanks for stopping by my pretty little nail polish space. 🙂

Stay strong in your Pursuit!
