essie Lilacism – Color of the Month

Hi loves! I decided not to wait until the END of the month like I always do to showcase the essie Color of the Month. AND I also decided to show other essie polishes that might be DUPES… because I know how much you guys love Dupes! The April essie Color of the Month is Lilacism.

Ermergerrrdddd! Lilacism is a true soft lilac creme. It is so so pretty. It has an ok formula. It took 2.5 coats for me to get this opaque. How gorgeous is this and perfect for Spring?

This beauty is originally from the Art of Spring 2010 Collection. I have not had it since then, I actually purchased it a few months ago and it’s been sitting in my “to swatch” pile. I’m so glad essie picked her this month!

So…. as always I do a little bit of research on each polish before I post it. Turns out that Lilacism if left exposed to sunlight over times turns BLUE! Yes, blue. Isn’t that weird? Well it must have some kind of pigment that causes this to happen. I store my polish hidden away in IKEA Alex drawers so they are always in a dry, dark, cool place so the likelihood of this happening to mine is slim to none. But it did happen to Essie Envy! Check out her post on it here.

I decided to do some possible DUPE comparisons so I pulled out all of the essies in my collection that I thought might be a match. Here is the line up:

(top to bottom)

Go Ginza – Bond with Whomever – Lilacism – Nice is Nice – Baguette Me Not

Do you think any of these are DUPES of Lilacism? Let’s take a look at them on the nails:

So as you can see none of these look even remotely close to Lilacism. I thought maybe Nice is Nice would be similar, but nope, not at all. If anything Bond with Whomever and Baguette Me Not are DUPES! lol! They look super similar to each other, but Lilacism is definitely not like any of these. Here it looks more blue toned because it’s next to all of these polishes that lean more toward lavender but on it’s own it looks more purple. Guys this is the perfect shade of lilac. Absolutely perfect! So you know what that means…. you NEED it if you don’t already have it!!
