KL Polish 2017 Spring Collection | Swatches + Review

Happy FRI-YAY pretty polishers! Do you have any fun plans this weekend? I am hoping to head on over to the beach at some point because the weather in Miami is feeling a lot like Summer already. Today I’m sharing YouTube beauty guru Kathleen Lights’ newest collection release from her very own brand KL Polish.

Kathleen debuted KL Polish back in December 2016 and most of her polish sold out very quickly. I reviewed that collection here. Now let’s take a look at her new Spring collection.

COCONUT MILK

This is a milky bone white creme. The formula was not easy to work with because it is streaky and patchy and even after 3 coats I had to add a 4th coat to some nails because they were still looking patchy. This is such a gorgeous Spring and Summer color, I just wish the formula was a tad better. It really does look milky though and I think that’s the look she was going for with this color.

HUG & ROLL

This is a white with a dot of red which creates a pastel strawberry milkshake color. Kathleen describes this as a pastel lavender but it looks more pink to me. Formula was a bit thick on this one. Streaky on the first coat but it was fully opaque on the 2nd coat.

MISS HONEY

This is a rosy melon mauve creme. I LOVE that she named this after a character from the movie Matilda. Guys I used to watch Matilda over and over and over with my sister. She was obsessed with the movie so this polish automatically reminds of her. The formula was wonderful! A bit watery but so much better than the previous two and very manageable. I did 2 coats here.

THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID

This is a metallic rose gold. It’s the only one from the collection that is not a creme. This baby is a ONE coater!!! I would say the formulas just keep getting better and better. This one is very brushstrokey so try to do simple downward strokes. I really love this one because it has a mirrored effect.

PISTACHIO ICE CREAM

This is a pistachio green creme. The formula was super awesome. Buttery and smooth. Opaque in 2 coats. This color is very “Kathleen” – unique and different!

ST. CLAIR

This is a pastel periwinkle blue creme. Gorgeous color! I’m a sucker for periwinkles. This one had a great formula. Opaque in 2 easy peasy coats.

I created a live swatch + review video for you guys on my YouTube channel that you can watch here:

I’m still not a big fan of the brush. I discussed it in my post for her debut collection here. If it was a little longer it would be perfect but since it’s so short and stubby, it makes it so difficult not to get polish on the sides of your nails. Please keep in mind that I paint my nails A LOT and I usually never have to do any clean up but with this brush it’s almost impossible.

My favorites were St. Clair and Pistachio Ice Cream. I’ve been following Kathleen for years now. She’s an amazing, talented, and creative YouTuber! Also a fellow Latina and Miami girl like myself. KL Polish is vegan, cruelty free, and 5 FREE. You can purchase her polish here.

Which one of these was your favorite? Have you tried KL Polish? Have a great weekend!
