Marsala: 2015 Pantone Color of the Year

Hi Pretty Polishers! Happy Hump Day 🙂

So I’m sure some of you have heard, but if you haven’t, MARSALA (Pantone 18-1438) is the Pantone Color of the Year for 2015. Every year, they announce the color of the year in January. Marsala is a naturally robust and earthy red wine as described by Pantone. If you’re wondering who or what is Pantone, like I was, here is the scoop. Pantone Color Institute is the world-renowned authority on color and provider of color systems and leading technology for the selection and accurate communication of color across a variety of industries. That is fancy talk for the Color Gurus, the Color Godfathers, the Color Head Honchos, the Color Kings! These people know all about color. I think they are most famous for developing a number system for each color and swatch cards. Bottom line, if you want to know about color, check out their site. They even sell phone cases and mugs with Pantone colors!

Pantone collaborates with companies like Sephora and Lowes to sell makeup, paint, and so much more. They selected Marsala because it was extremely versatile for both men and women fashion, home decor, painting, and even food. It’s earthy, spicy, and harmonious. So if you’re wondering how you can be in style in all aspects of your life this year, go for the Marsala shade.

Today I’m sharing a few shades of Marsala in my polish collection so you can get an idea on how to wear Marsala on your nails! Here are a few:

Marsala1. Swept Off My Feet by Essie

2. Lost on Lombard by OPI

3. Razz 384 by Rimmel

4. Brownie Points by Essie

These were the closest shades to Marsala that I could find in my collection. The others were too wine or too pink. My #3 made me laugh because this polish is SUPER old. I’m guessing about 5 years old or maybe more! LOL The cool thing is that it’s still in great shape and not thick or chunky or dried up. That is how you can tell that I take care of my polish and this specific brand is great! I’m going to add more shades to my Marsala collection. Maybe a ZOYA and a butter LONDON! Which Marsala colors do you have in your collection?

A special thanks to my sister who gave me the idea of doing a Marsala post! Thanks sissy! 🙂

Stay strong in your Pursuit!
