My Picks: Favorite hand lotions

Hi Pretty Polishers! So most of us know that in order to keep your hands (and nails) pretty and nourished, you need to apply hand lotion daily. We do things daily, like washing our hands, that cause dryness. Weather can also effect our skin and cause extreme dryness. So it’s essential to have a good lotion to help with these issues. Today I’m sharing with you my personal favorite hand lotions!

I know it can be a PITA (pain in the @ss) to remember to apply lotion at any time. Plus if you wear rings you have to take them off and then wait for the lotion to absorb to put your jewelry back on… so my solution is to apply at bedtime! Keep your hand lotion on your night table and apply every night before going to bed. That will also be beneficial because the lotion will absorb on your skin overnight. Another trick is throwing a mini size of a hand lotion in your purse and lathering up when you have a spare moment during the day such as waiting at the doctor’s office. Don’t worry if you forget, even I forget! Just make sure you do it at least 3-4 times a week to see best results. Here are my faves in no particular order:

EOS Cucumber Hand Lotion

Did you ever wonder what EOS stands for? It means the “Evolution of Smooth”. I LOVE this company’s lip balms so when I saw this adorable oval shaped hand lotion I jumped at purchasing it. Here are some of the awesome ingredients in this lotion that help  keep your hands and nails looking beautiful:

  • shea butter
  • aloe
  • oats
  • antioxidants

This hand lotion is fast-absorbing and it provides 24 hour moisture. My favorite part about it is that it’s 90% natural, paraben-free, gluten-free, no animal by-products, hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested and non-greasy! I really can’t ask for more. I’ve been really into paraben free products lately thanks to my sister, who initially suggested I try paraben-free shampoo when I mentioned I was feeling that my shampoo was weighing down my hair. So I tried the amazing Herbal Essences Naked Moisture shampoo which is Paraben-free and it worked! I’ve never looked back since. But that’s a whole other post! lol I carry this little EOS oval thingie in my purse and apply throughout the day! I purchased this little guy at Target for $1.99

L’Occitaine Shea Butter Hand Cream

When L’Occitane thought of creating a nourishing hydrating creme, they created this Buerre de Karité, heaven in a tube! I absolutely adore this stuff!!! It has 20% Shea Butter and is fantastic for dry skin, which is exactly what I have. Here are some of the awesome ingredients in this lotion that help keep your hands and nails looking beautiful:

  • Shea Butter
  • Honey
  • Almond Extracts
  • Coconut Oil

Deliciousness! The first time I tried it was in a sample size Sephora sent me with one of my online purchases. Thank goodness they did because I have been hooked ever since. I used up my sample size and then purchased this full size beauty. I use this cream usually at bedtime. I lather my hands completely and then just let my skin soak it all in overnight. In the AM I wake up with smooth, soft hands. I am in love with this cream. It is my favorite at the moment. I purchased the full sized 5.2 oz (its giant) for $28 at the L’Occitaine store. There is a smaller 1 oz tube for $12. Here’s a fun fact: this lotion is L’Occitaine’s best selling product sold every 3 seconds around the world! I’m telling you, this stuff is the best.

OPI AVOJUICE Mango Hand & Body Lotion

This incredible skin quencher is for both hands and body so you can keep it on your dresser and use all over! OPI created a whole line of hand/nail care that included these lotions. There are 6 lotions in this line.

OPI Avojuice

I decided to go for the Mango and it smells divine! I’m really loving this lotion because it’s light and very refreshing. Here are some of the awesome ingredients in this lotion that help keep your hands and nails looking beautiful:

  • Avocado
  • Aloe extracts
  • Paraben free

This lotion is so refreshing for the hot humid days during the summer months. Best part is they are not greasy. I purchased mine at my local beauty supply store but you can find these at Ulta and Amazon for about $6-9 each or $10 for a mini 6 pack set. I would get the mini pack to try different scents!
