October Orange is BAAAAAAACK!!!!! Guys, today is the start of the best month of the year, finishing off with the best holiday of the year. Halloween is my Christmas! I enjoy it so so much. Although I am behind on my costume ideas. I have not even started thinking about what I want to be this year. Well, I’ve always wanted to be La Muerte from the Book of Life or Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty but those costumes need time to prepare and I have not had the time this year… so I will need to figure something out. If you guys have been reading my blog for a while, you know every year I do October Orange where I feature orange polishes in my collection! Today we are taking a look at the first orange polish I am featuring this month. This beauty is Capri by essie.
If you want to check out past October Orange polishes, they are here. Today’s choice I picked up at a local beauty supply store. It was on clearance and as soon as I saw the bright orangey tone, I knew I had to get it! I love bright colorful polishes so this was a must-have.
Capri is a bright pumpkin orange crelly. It has a jelly-like formula so it is a bit sheer and streaky on the first coat. It does even out well after the second coat. I did three full coats here just because I wanted it to look very opaque and even. It’s so squishy and delicious.
This orange beauty is one of the original polishes essie released in their first few years. The bottle number is 346 so that tells you how old it is! I’m guessing it was probably released in their 3rd or 4th year… maybe after that but it was definitely in the 80’s! This polish was also re-released for last year’s Resort Collection. I have had it in my collection for some time now but was saving it for this month!
I also thought this color was PERFECT for some nail art!!! I used MoYou London’s Festive Collection 15 plate and added some bats on over top! I LOVE how they pop over the orange. This color is so perfect for then entire month of October. MoYou London just had a massive sale on their plates and I went a little bananas. They were $5 each guys!!! I stocked up on a bunch of plates I had my eye on and more for Halloween nail art.
I used Twinkled T’s Vibin’ black polish to stamp the bats. They have the BEST stamping polishes!!
Essie Cosmetics is owned by L’Oréal. The brand has over 250 shades in the permanent collection, plus releases four seasonal color collections and two specialty collections every year. Essie is 3 FREE and sold in drug stores, salons, and beauty supply stores world wide.
