It’s Black Friday in the US! How many of you shopped ’till you dropped? Here in Miami, the malls opened up as early as 6pm on Thanksgiving night! That’s insane!! LOL I was eating Thanksgiving dinner at that time. My mom and sister love the sales so they went out around midnight. I was snuggled in my bed! I have not gone Black Friday shopping in a few years. I prefer Cyber Monday 🙂 Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Today I’m sharing a huge collection by OPI. I’m breaking it out into 3 parts! That’s how ginormous it is. Here are the first 6 polishes of the Fall 2015 OPI Venice Collection
The inspiration behind this collection was people watching in the piazza, sipping champagne in a gondola, and enjoying gelato in an outdoor café. Suzi Weiss-Fischmann traveled to none other than one of the most romantic cities in the world Venice, Italy to see the sights and taste the food that inspired this gorgeous collection. Best job in the world, in my opinion!
The entire Fall 2015 Venice Collection consists of 12 polishes and 3 Limited Edition polishes. There are 3 shimmers and 9 cremes in the larger collection and the Limited Edition collection consists of 3 metallics and 1 contains glitter. Whenever there are huge collections like this, I like to split them up just to make it easier on the eyes and not overload you with pictures. So today I’m gonna share the first half of this gorgeous collection.
The formulas on these were all different, so I will describe formulas for each one. The colors are also very different and not your “typical” Fall shades. I also added top coat to all of my swatches and photos are all taken indoors for accuracy. Let’s get to it!
A GREAT OPERA-TUNITY
This is a beautiful melon/peachy/nude creme. It covers well on the 1st coat. The formula was good, but not great because it was still streaky even after 2 coats. So I did 3 coats here for full opacity.
AMORE AT THE GRAND CANAL
This is a cherry red creme. The formula on this one is perfect. It’s fantastic for Christmas and even reminded me of Valentine’s day! OPI has of course done a ton of reds like this one, but if you don’t already have a good cherry red, I highly recommend this one. 2 coats for full opacity.
BE THERE IN A PROSECCO
This is a pale vanilla creme. The formula on this was not great. It was sheer and streaky after 2 coats. Even after 3 coats I could still see some streaks. It’s so pretty and chic but I was not a fan because of the formula.
GELATO ON MY MIND
This is an icy mint creme. OH MY! This is SOOO beautiful. Good formula, not great, but good. It was streaky of course but opaque in 2.5 coats depending on how you do your coats. I tend to go with thick coats. I love this shade so much I don’t mind the tricky formula.
GIMME A LIDO KISS
This is a candy apple red with pink shimmer. The formula was great! It covers completely in 2 coats. This shade is super festive and perfect for Christmas. Not very Fall-ish. Although this is a gorgeous shade I’m not a huge fan of the pink shimmer although it looks more purple outdoors.
I CANNOLI WEAR OPI
This is a pale dove grey creme. I love the name of this polish! It was streaky as expected, but opaque in 2 coats for me. This is so lovely and chic!
My favorite from this bunch is Gelato on My Mind. SO gorgeous!!! I would wear it more in the Spring than in the Fall but I’m happy to see a minty shade in the Fall 🙂 Which one was your favorite?
The OPI Fall 2015 Venice Collection is available in stores now and retail for about $9.50 USD. OPI is 3 FREE so it doesn’t contain Formaldehyde, Toluene, or DBP. Not all of OPI’s polishes are 3 FREE but it is said that after 2006 all are 3 FREE. It’s best to check labels if you have a concern. OPI is sold at beauty supply stores, Ulta, Target, drugstores, and Amazon or eBay. Most of the OPI classic polishes are available online or stores.
Have a great weekend pretty polishers! I’ll be eating tons of turkey leftovers this weekend 🙂 I’ll be back tomorrow with the second half of this collection.
