Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my picks from the OPI Holiday 2015 Starlight Collection which is a ginormous collection of 18 polishes. I didn’t really like most of them except for these which I decided to pick up. This collection is made up of mostly metallics and a few different type of glitters, but there are some gems here. Let’s take a look.
Starlight Collection by OPI brings a constellation of color to nails and toes for Holiday 2015. This new collection of 18 limited-edition nail lacquers and GelColors sends style into the stratosphere with hues as glittery as the night sky, as deep as space itself, and as riveting as a romance written in the stars. The one thing I do like about this collection is the references to space and galaxies. I have a huge passion and interest for stars, space, and our solar system so I really enjoyed this collection’s theme!
GUYS & GALAXIES
This is an oxblood wine creme. The formula was great. Easy to apply and opaque in 2 coats. It’s so vampy! It does stain a little on the sides of the nails so make sure you use downward straight sweeps when removing this so you don’t get wine colored fingers!
RO-MAN-CE ON THE MOON
This is a gorgeous rich cherry red shimmer. It has a beautiful formula and looks stunning on the nail. This is 2 coats.
I’M IN THE MOON FOR LOVE
This is a purple with very subtle pink and blue shimmer. It has a great formula. Opaque in 2 coats.
GIVE ME SPACE
This is a blue-tinted base filled with ultra fine blue and holo glitter. Oh my goodness! This is stunning!!! I am so in love!!! It reminds me of Dream by ZOYA which is one of my all time fave ZOYAs so keep an eye out for a DUPES post soon! I had no staining with removal. This is 2 coats.
CENTER OF THE YOU-NIVERSE
This is a black-tinted base filled with silver holo micro glitter and black hex glitter. You can see the black hex glitter after 1 coat but then it unfortunately disappears after the 2nd coat. It took 3 coats to make this opaque. It dries a bit gritty and bumpy but smooths out with a glossy top coat. It was also a bit messy to remove because of the black hex glitter.
Here is a macro shot of this polish after 1 coat, where you can see the black hex glitter. It’s a shame it disappears after the 2nd coat, but that’s because of the black tinted base.
This is after 3 coats:
COSMO WITH A TWIST
This is an eggplant-tinted base filled with blue and purple ultra micro flakies. Easy to apply and was opaque in 2 coats.
Here are different macros to capture the color shifts in the flakies:
My favorite of course hands down is Give Me Space. Wow! I can’t wait to compare him to Dream! I also really liked Ro-Man-Ce On The Moon and I don’t usually like shimmers but this one is lovely! Have you tried any of these polishes? Which one was your favorite?
OPI is 3 FREE so it doesn’t contain Formaldehyde, Toluene, or DBP. Not all of OPI’s polishes are 3 FREE but it is said that after 2006 all are 3 FREE. It’s best to check labels if you have a concern. The OPI Holiday 2015 Starlight Collection is now available at beauty supply stores, Ulta, Target, drugstores, and Amazon or eBay.
